Your Story - Briony

In the beginning...

This story was a challenge! Briony got in touch because she had several bent, old-fashioned rings, some singular earrings and some pendants that were all sentimental, inherited pieces which she could no longer wear but wanted to create something new and magnificent from.

Deciding what we could use and would make a beautiful piece was the tricky part. There was so much choice! But the important thing was not to try and just cram it all in, but to make something that was wearable and beautiful.

The Plot

We toyed around with a few ideas and then there was a magic moment where we discussed a style of ring made famous by one of the large jewellery houses. Briony loved this concept and admitted that she had always wanted a ring in that style. This meant we whittled the jewellery down to the two rings Briony most wanted to use, a 5 stone opal ring and a ruby and diamond one, plus two other gold shanks. With a concept in mind, we added a few more rubies to bulk out the design and a render was created so Briony could see a more realistic design concept. All approved and then the exciting transformation.

The Story Continues

When the ring came out of the workshop, it was clear it was a showstopper. All the stones beautifully encased and scattered across the 5 bars. Briony admitted that another jeweller had declined to do anything with the rings previously, so she was even more thrilled that we had created something so magnificent. Briony now has a fitting, daily tribute on her hand to all the fabulous women who have touched her life. Long may the story continue.

"Sophie had the courage where other jewellers wouldn't or couldn't. She has created the most extraordinary, vibrant, beautiful and modern ring that maintains the emotional connections (love and sentiment) of the givers."
